Kenneth L. Propst

Business

Kenny began his career in commercial real estate development over 30 years ago in his hometown of Concord, North Carolina, by creating First Carolina Properties, Inc.   He has built upon many years of experience managing family owned retail centers and office complexes.  In more recent years, he has continued to develop other income producing properties, creating strong relationships with many regional and nationally known companies - both in retail and medically oriented office uses.    During this time, he has also developed sites ultimately selected by companies such as Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Kohl’s, Hobby Lobby, Academy Sports, etc.   Prior to this, he was president of another family owned company, Earl’s Tire and Auto Service. It was here that he first established a strong report with the local business community.

Over the years he has been active within the business community, serving on boards of directors of various entities such as the Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce, (serving two times as chairman), Wells Fargo Bank, Carolina’s Partnership and the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors®.  He is a member of the National Association of Realtors®

Education

Kenny attended Lenoir-Rhyne College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics. He is a graduate of the Realtors® Institute, GRI.

Community

He  is also active in his community by serving organizations such as CVAN Women’s Shelter, Cabarrus County Boy’s and Girl’s Club, Central NC Council of the Boy’s Scouts of America.

A lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church, he has served on various committees, including several terms as council president.

In his spare time, Kenny enjoys traveling, boating, water sports and spending time with his wife Annette.  They have two sons and daughter-in-laws, Bradley and Ashley, Andrew and Jenny.
